Roots Family Collaborative is Bozeman-based non-profit with the mission to connect all families to the support they need from pregnancy to parenthood. The Community Engagement Coordinator will be overseen by the Executive Director to design, implement, evaluate, and maintain outreach that is related to and will support the mission and growth of Roots.
Job Title: Community Engagement Coordinator
Hours: Flexible schedule, 15-25 hours
Location: Bozeman, MT
Mix of in-office and virtual work environments
Position Summary:
The Community Engagement Coordinator at Roots Family Collaborative is a dynamic position within the organization. A successful Community Engagement Coordinator at Roots will have excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
As the first Community Engagement Coordinator for the organization, this person will work with the Executive Director and Program Director to develop and implement a comprehensive communications and community outreach plan. Roots is at a pivotal time of growth and the Community Engagement Coordinator will be an integral part of increasing community awareness about our mission and programs.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Community Outreach
- Work with Executive Director to create an annual plan to maintain and expand outreach with the local and regional community (leaders, providers, partner organizations)
- Act as community liaison and work with Executive Director and Program Assistant to build and maintain relationships with community partners, providers, and supporters
2. Volunteer Program Assistance
- Assist in development of formal volunteer program
- Help formalize recruitment and onboarding process
3. Communications Support
- Work with Executive Director to develop and implement annual communications plan and calendar
- Manage creation and distribution of monthly e-newsletter
- Manage all Roots social media accounts to promote programming and events, etc.
- Assist with content creation in other communications about Roots programming and events
4. Administrative Support
- Work alongside Roots team to complete administrative tasks as needed
- Help maintain office space
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- This is a professional position and we are looking for someone who is excited about the mission of Roots. Someone with experience with community engagement and/or communications preferred.
- Familiarity with social media, email, and communication trends preferred.
- Demonstrates excellent interpersonal skills.
- Pays close attention to detail.
- Comfortable with computer programs such as Word, Zoom, Excel, website software, MailChimp, and Canva.
- Exhibits friendly and professional demeanor.
- Works well with a range of different individuals.
- Demonstrates knowledge of proper compositional practices to aid in writing and proofreading.
- Exhibits strong organizational skills.
- Demonstrates ability to think creatively .
- Is capable of leaving the office to run errands throughout the day.
- Demonstrates excellent time-management skills.
- Ability to work and thrive in a flexible work environment.
Compensation/Benefits:
$20-23 DOE
