Fresh Air Mamas is starting! Please know WE ARE FOLLOWING GUIDELINES FOR PHASE 2 OPENING.
At Roots Family Collaborative we believe that getting outside is vital to a new parent's health and well-being. Not only does it provide a change of scenery which can be so desperately needed, but connecting with nature helps us get in touch with our humanity. Getting outdoors can ground us, or lift us up, or simply allow us to breathe. You don't have to be a Ridge Runner or an extreme climber to feel the benefits of wind in your hair, sun on your face, and dirt beneath your feet. Join us as we get together to explore the trails around Bozeman with no judgement and no expectations. All families are welcome.
Fresh Air Mamas creates community and welcomes all types of parents to embrace the benefits of fresh air while instilling a love of nature in our children. Some of us are in a season of giving and some of us are in a season of receiving. After so many miles on the trails together, it will all even out. You can hike at your own pace, stop for snacks, break off into groups, turn around at any time, and come to as many or as little hikes as you want. The whole family is always welcome.
We offer THREE different types of opportunities to get out in nature, some for folks with babies/children in baby carriers/backpacks, some for toddling little ones who need to stretch their legs, and also a few virtual activities for you to do on your own time!
1. Hikes denoted with a STAR on the schedule are geared towards Moms that want to get outside while letting their littles also walk and run together which means a slower pace and are on an "easy" level trail.
2.Our "Regular" hikes will be a slightly faster pace, moderate level trail choice, and are geared towards Mamas that are baby wearing and/or have school age kids. This helps us stay in groups better as we hike.
3. Family-friendly virtual activities will be announced on our page with information about how you can participate on your own schedule. Those are denoted with a computer on the schedule.
There will always be a hike leader present. Please know that we are taking into full consideration the Phase 2 guidelines for COVID 19 and ask that folks rsvp/register for the hikes, practice appropriate social distancing, and avoid joining if you or your children are sick, have been sick recently, or have been exposed to any virus. Please help us by being respectful and looking out for your fellow parents.
