The Roots Infant Feeding Support Circle is a welcoming and nurturing peer to peer support group for all mothers learning to feed their babies. This group provides a safe, non-judgmental, and compassionate space to share the joy and challenges of the feeding experience, while gaining validation, encouragement, and connection to local resources.

We know it can be difficult to join a support group for many reasons, including the fear of feeling like a failure, but this group is welcoming, compassionate, and non judgmental. We are here are for you.

At our Infant Feeding Support Circle you can expect:
  • A friendly, inviting peer-facilitator
  • A certified lactation counselor
  • A safe and comfy space that is peaceful and clean
  • Other mothers who understand
  • To be heard and acknowledged
  • To finish your thoughts without being interrupted or judged
We use a peer-to-peer support group model that is both structured and unstructured, allowing for all voices to be heard and for those who wish to be listeners to be respected. All are welcome at our Feeding Support Circle.

Common themes that come up during our group are, but not limited to:
  • Feeling overwhelmed
  • Is my baby getting enough?
  • Formula feeding
  • Is this working for me?
  • Partner relationships
  • Weaning
  • Pumping and going back to work
  • Resources in the community
  • Emotional complications
  • How to reach out for help

At each group, our goals are:
  • To support and foster connection for mothers during the perinatal period.
  • To acknowledge the realities of feeding an infant.
  • To provide a safe space for mothers to share experiences around feeding.
  • To connect mothers to appropriate resources in the community.

At Roots, we know that parenting is hard.  And we know that parenting alone is even harder.   Our support groups are here for you to connect with others in a safe and welcoming space.  Come join us.

Please note that masks are optional at Roots. Please respect our space and the other mothers who need this group by not coming if you or your baby are feeling sick or have been sick.
