In some ways, you may not relate to the woman you used to be and often you end up feeling isolated, depleted and stressed. Investment: $25 (no one who wishes to nourish themselves through an offering at Roots will be turned away for lack of funds)
Our Mindful Mamas workshop aims to help you integrate your 'old' self with your 'new' self. In this dynamic workshop you will have the chance to talk with other mamas or mamas-to-be, laugh about your partner (even though we all know you love them), your kids and even do some yoga.
We will explore emotions through the body using mindfulness practices and movement. To do this we will:
This workshop will be facilitated by psychotherapist and fellow mom, Lexi Newhall, MA, MFT, LCPC. Lexi specializes in working with women of all ages and holds a special place in her heart for working with moms and moms to be. Lexi practices a style of mindfulness, body oriented therapy called the Hakomi Method. Lexi is particularly excited about 'Mindful Mamas' because it will enable you connect with other moms and bring the wisdom of this workshop into your daily life.

- learn various mindfulness exercises that can be practiced at home
- identify emotion through movement
- reconnect to the body through yoga
- gain personal insight using guided imagery
- share experiences with fellow moms
- find clarity by journaling
