Roots Family Collaborative Outreach Coordinator 

Roots Family Collaborative is Bozeman-based non-profit with the mission to connect all families to the support they need from pregnancy to parenthood. The Outreach Coordinator will be overseen by the Executive Director to design, implement, evaluate, and maintain outreach that is related to and will support the mission and growth of Roots.


Job Title: Outreach Coordinator
Hours: Flexible schedule, 15-25 hours
Location: Bozeman, MT 
Mix of in-office and virtual work environments

Position Summary: 
The Outreach Coordinator at Roots Family Collaborative is a dynamic position within the organization. A successful Outreach Coordinator at Roots will have excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.

As the first Outreach Coordinator for the organization, this person will work with the Executive Director and Program Director to develop and implement a comprehensive communications and community outreach plan. Roots is at a pivotal time of growth and the Outreach Coordinator will be an integral part of increasing community awareness about our mission and programs offered. 

Duties and Responsibilities: 

Community Outreach 
  • Work with Executive Director to create an annual plan to maintain outreach with the local and regional community (leaders, providers, partner organizations)
  • Work with Roots staff and leadership to expand and enhance network with community leaders and providers
  • Act as community liaison and work with Executive Director and Program Director to build relationships with community partners, providers, and supporters
  • Assist in development of volunteer program —  as well as recruitment and retention of new volunteers 

Communications 
  • Work with Executive Director to development and implement annual communications plan and calendar
  • Manage creation and distribution of monthly e-newsletter
  • Manage all Roots social media accounts to promote programming and events, etc. 
  • Manage communications lists including mailing and email lists
  • Assist with content creation in other marketing communications about Roots programming 
  • Assist with compilation and production of annual Resource Guide
  • Assist with communications surrounding our annual event Moms Like Me
  • Assist with content creation and management of website 
 
Administration
  • Work alongside Roots team to complete administrative tasks as needed

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
This is a professional position. We are looking for someone who is excited about the mission of Roots.  Someone with experience with outreach and communications preferred. 
  • Familiarity with social media, email, and communication trends preferred
  • Demonstrates excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Pays close attention to detail.
  • Comfortable with computer programs such as Word, Zoom, Excel, website software, MailChimp, and Canva
  • Exhibits friendly and professional demeanor.
  • Works well with a range of different individuals.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of proper compositional practices to aid in writing and proofreading.
  • Exhibits strong organizational skills.
  • Demonstrates ability to think creatively. 
  • Is capable of leaving the office to run errands throughout the day.
  • Demonstrates excellent time-management skills.
  • Ability to work and thrive in a flexible work environment
  • Ability to work and communicate with the Executive Director regularly

Compensation and Benefits:
$15-17 DOE
PTO
